This afternoon, the College's team of Chefs won the Steward's Cup for the best overall team effort in the Cambridge College Chefs Competition. This annual event was held at Girton College. Every member of our kitchen brigade entered at least one class with some outstanding results. The small team from Sidney Sussex beat off stiff competition from Trinity, Emmanuel and St Johns. Of particular note were:

Nigel Tumber - Gold Medal and best in Class - Desserts.

Johnny Bridgeman - Gold Medal and Best in Class & Best Dish in Competition - Main Course

Sarah Delgardo - Bronze Medal - Starter

Abigail Tumber (Aged 16) - Silver Medal - Dessert (Youngest Chef in the competition)

Jesus Serrano - Bronze Medal - Starter / Silver Medal - Main / Silver Medal - Dessert (Only Chef to win 3 medals)

Phillip Crouch - Silver Medal - Dessert

Steve Borbas - Silver Medal - Starter (The only Hall Manager to enter and beat chefs from other Colleges)

The team have turned in an outstanding performance under the guidance and training of the Head Chef, Steven Mather.
