The Dr D C Pavate Memorial Foundation grants an annual Travel Bursary to Karnatak University, Dharwad, Karnataka, India.

This Travel Bursary allows a Cambridge academic, post-doctoral or research student to spend a period of between one and two months at Karnatak University. The bursary covers return air fare to and from India, accommodation and board during the period of the visit and a stipend of £1000.

Karnatak University has a full range of departments in the Sciences and Humanities and the holder of the bursary will be attached to an appropriate Department for the duration of their visit. Karnatak University operates a two term academic year (the first running from January to June and the second from August through December) so unless the holder of the bursary is on study leave we would normally expect them to visit the University at Dharwad during the Cambridge long vacation. The next bursary is available for any time between August and December 2019.

Sidney Sussex College is responsible for the selection process in Cambridge and proposes candidates to Karnatak University.  Anyone interested in finding out more about this opportunity is invited to get in touch with Professor James Mayall at Sidney Sussex College (jblm2@cam.ac.uk) in the first instance.
