Using natural materials in building design.

Sidney Fellow in Architecture Michael Ramage is leading a £1.75 million Leverhulme Trust funded five-year project to research and develop the use of natural materials in building design.

The project - which also features collaborators in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, Biochemistry, Chemistry and Plant Sciences - has been profiled on the University's Research News website.  As Michael explains, by better understanding the properties of a range of natural materials, the research aims to "transform the way we build".
