I applied to Sidney Sussex after meeting the Admissions Director at an outreach event at my sixth form college in central Manchester. I was drawn to her openness and friendliness, which made me feel at ease when considering the application process. I was delighted to then have her as my Director of Studies when I started my first year.
Sidney is a relaxed and welcoming College. Hidden in the midst of the bustling city centre, you're never far away from both work and play! Sidney has a tight-knit community, making it really easy to find people who you really click with — whether they're from a similar background to yours or not.
I've enjoyed getting involved as Secretary of the Sidney Sussex College Students' Union (SSCSU) which gives students a voice. Alongside this, as the Vice-President of the Cambridge University Islamic Society, I have found Sidney to be a place which supports my personal values and interests. I couldn't imagine attending another Cambridge College!
