Ricardo Garcia-Mayoral is Professor in Fluid Mechanics at the Engineering Department, which he joined in 2013.
He received his PhD from the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid in 2011, and subsequently completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Center for Turbulence Research in Stanford University. He was the recipient of the 2012 Ercoftac Da Vinci award to the Best European Thesis in Fluid Mechanics. His research focuses on understanding the dynamics of turbulent flows over complex surfaces, and on the control of those flows through surface manipulations.
