Suzanne Jones is currently an Assistant Professor in Early Modern French.
She will be teaching Cambridge undergraduate and graduate students in Modern Languages and continuing her research projects. Her work focusses on seventeenth-century French drama in early modern translation. She is the author of The First English Translations of Molière: Drama in Flux (Cambridge: Legenda, 2020). She has also published various articles and book chapters on seventeenth- and eighteenth-century reception and print publication of Molière and Racine. She is now finishing a project called ‘Translating Tragedy: The Politics of Early Modern Cross-Channel Drama’. She completed all her studies to doctoral level at the University of Oxford and has taught and researched there for several years. She has also worked at Durham University and Université Paris Nanterre.
Suzanne enjoys taking part in public engagement and has shared her research on Molière’s comedies through radio, open talks with actors, and consulting with directors of theatre companies.
