Undergraduate September Open Day
Sidney will be open to prospective applicants along with their parents and supporters on the 13th of September 2024 as part of the University of Cambridge Open Day.
Come visit us from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm to:
- Get a tour of the College from current students, which will include student accommodation, common spaces, the gardens, our chapel, and our student bar
- Learn more about student life at Sidney from our friendly undergraduates who will be on hand the entire day
- Speak to the Admissions Team, including our Admissions Director
- Speak to a member of the Welfare Team
- Attend talks about student life, the application process, and making a competitive application.
Open Days Talks
We will be hosting the following talks during the September Open Day. These will all be hosted in the Mong Hall. Signage will be posted around the College to direct visitors to the location of the talks.
Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences Interview workshop - 10:00 - 11:00
In this session, Sidney academics will discuss what they look for during the interview process, how to best prepare for the interview and demonstrate an interview style question for the audience. The session will broadly cover arts & humanities subjects (including Economics).
Sciences Interview Workshop - 12:00 - 13:00
In this session, Sidney academics will discuss what they look for during the interview process, how to best prepare for the interview and demonstrate an interview style question for the audience. The session will broadly cover Science subjects (including Psychological & Behavioural Sciences).
Sciences Admissions Test Talk - 13:30 - 14:00
In this session, Sidney Admissions staff and current students will discuss Science admissions tests (UCAT, ESAT, & TMUA). We will discuss how we use these tests in Admissions decisions, how to prepare for them and answer any questions.
Arts & Humanities Admissions Test Talk - 14:30 - 15:00
In this session, Sidney Admissions staff and current students will discuss Arts & Humanities admissions tests. We will discuss how we use these tests in Admissions decisions, how to prepare for them and answer any questions.
- Booking the Cambridge Open Days
Bookings are now open!
- You will need to complete a booking form for the Cambridge Open Days. This covers the centrally organised events including everything happening in person for the Open Days and the centrally organised warm-up webinars. You can register here: Cambridge Open Day
- Your Cambridge Open Days booking will also give you access to all events taking place in Sidney Sussex as part of the Open Days on the 13th of September.

- Open Days and Events Travel Fund
The University of Cambridge has established a travel fund to enable children in (or previously in) care to travel to open day events organised by the University and Colleges of Cambridge. For more information and to apply, please see the Travel Fund web page, or contact care@cao.cam.ac.uk.
- Drop-in visits throughout the year
