We are delighted to share that this year’s SSBC Alumni Dinner will take place on Saturday 24 October 2026 in College Hall, marking the 189th year since the Club’s establishment.
SSBC is currently in a period of notable strength and growth, with a full programme of outings, training, and racing. We are especially pleased that this year two Sidney rowers were victorious in both the Blondie and Lightweight Men’s Boat Races.
The programme will include:
- Afternoon outings
- Drinks reception in Mong Hall
- Tim’s retirement celebration
- Panel discussion (theme to follow)
- Dinner in College Hall
- Auction of SSBC and rowing memorabilia
This Easter Term also marks the retirement of Tim Rhodes, who has served the Boat Club for many years as a dedicated boatman and coach. His contribution has been exceptional, and we are keen to mark the occasion appropriately. We will be celebrating his service at dinner and would ask that, if possible, you could contribute photographs or brief memories by emailing: ssboatclub@sid.cam.ac.uk. Tickets cost £55pp, reduced to £45pp for young alumni (under 30's) and you are very welcome to bring a guest. The dress code for the dinner is black tie.
