Colm McCarthy to lecture in Sidney Sussex on 29 September.

Sidney Sussex will host a memorial lecture given by Colm McCarthy in honour of the late former Irish finance minister Brian Lenihan (1959-2011), who studied for his LLM at the College.  Lenihan worked at the height of the financial crisis in Ireland. Colm McCarthy's lecture will examine "Two Very Different Irish Public Finance Crises, 1988 and 2008".  It will be held in Sidney Sussex on 29 September 2015 at 5pm.

The event will be introduced by Hugh M. Fitzpatrick, Chairman of Cambridge Alumni Ireland, and will be followed by a discussion chaired by Michael Pollitt, Professor of Business Economics and Fellow of Sidney Sussex College. There will be a reception after the discussion, and the opportunity to dine with the speaker. Tickets for dinner are £50 and those wishing to dine should contact Professor Eugenio Biagini (efb21@cam.ac.uk).
