Helen Castor on Joan of Arc

Sidney's Bye-Fellow in History returns to BBC2.

A new documentary by Dr Helen Castor, Bye-Fellow in History at Sidney, was aired this week on BBC2, on the life and death of Joan of Arc. Members of the College had already heard an advanced preview of Dr Castor's work, when she spoke at a recent Sidney Greats, and others can now find out what they missed by watching Joan of Arc: God's Warrior on the BBC iPlayer.

Dr Castor's new film follows the release of her latest book, Joan of Arc: A History, published earlier this year and already acclaimed as a 'vivid, riveting book' which 'combines a consumate skill for storytelling with the cogent precision of a trial lawyer' (Reviews in History), and as an example of 'popular history at its best' by Diarmaid MacCulloch (review in the Telegraph).

For more information about the book, please visit the book's page on the publisher's website.
