Sidney Welcomes New Fellows

Master admits new Fellows.

At a recent meeting of the Governing body, four new Fellows were formally admitted to Sidney Sussex.  The Master, Professor Richard Penty, welcomed Dr Stanley Bill, a new lecturer in Polish Studies in the Department of Slavonic Studies, Dr Steven Lee, who is a Royal Society University Research Fellow in the Department of Chemistry, Professor Gary Gerstle, who is the new Paul Mellon Professor of American History, and Dr Rupert Stasch, a newly-appointed Lecturer in Social Anthropology.

Professor Penty also welcomed two academic visitors.  Professor Lucia Williams is this term's Visiting Fellow.  Based in the Psychology Department at the Universidade Federal de São Carlos in Brazil, Professor Williams will be working with Sidney Fellow Professor Michael Lamb. The College is also pleased to continue its relationship with the Dr D.C. Pavate Foundation, welcoming Dr Math Shivkumar, who is based in the Department of Physics at Jain College of Engineering, Belgaum.  He will be working with Dr Steven Lee.
