Sidney Student Wins Poetry Prize

Conor McKee wins 2014 Hippocrates Young Poet Award for Poetry and Medicine.

Sidney student Conor McKee has been awarded the inaugural Young Poet Award at the annual Hippocrates Awards.  Conor's winning poem, I will Not Cut for Stone, explores the skills of the surgeon and the mechanics of the body.  It will now be published along with the other winning and commended poems in 2014 Hippocrates Awards Anthology

Conor, a first year English undergraduate student, collected his £500 prize at a ceremony at the Royal Society of Medicine on Saturday 10th May.

The Hippocrates Initiative for Poetry and Medicine was established in 2009.
