Sidney joins University HE+ Scheme

Scheme will see Sidney working more closely with schools and colleges around Wigan and Warrington.

HE+ is a University of Cambridge scheme that sees Colleges partner with school consortiums.  Sidney Sussex will support a new consortium of schools from Wigan and Warrington, working with students as they consider applying to university.

The consortium will be based at Winstanley College, near Wigan, and includes Atherton Free School, Deanery High School and Priestley Sixth Form College.

Over the next two years students from these schools and colleges will take part in extension classes, subject masterclasses and workshops.  These will be hosted at Winstanley College and at Sidney Sussex, and will see members of Sidney working closely with students.

HE+ is a developing scheme.  Other Colleges support schemes in Manchester, Stourbridge, Swansea and Rotherham.  For more information about the launch of the Wigan and Warrington scheme please visit the University of Cambridge website.  The scheme is coordinated by the University's Admissions Office.
