Sir Michael Stoker CBE, MD, FRCP, FRS (1918-2013)

Sidney Sussex College was saddened to learn of the death of Honorary Fellow Sir Michael Stoker.

In a distinguished scientific career, Sir Michael Stoker became the first Professor of Virology at the University of Glasgow (and indeed any British university) in 1958 and in 1968 was appointed to direct research at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London.

Sir Michael served as President of Clare Hall College from 1980-87.  He was elected as an Honorary Fellow in 1981.
