Promotions for Sidney Fellows

The College is pleased to announce that The Reporter has confirmed the promotions of the following Sidney Fellows with effect from 1 October 2012:

  • Dr Paul McHugh, Department of Land Economy, to the position of Professor
  • Dr Erika Eiser, Department of Physics, to the position of Reader
  • Mr Michael Ramage, Department of Architecture, to the position of University Senior Lecturer

In addition, Dr Mark Gurnell, a Bye Fellow of the College and Director of Studies in Medicine, has been promoted to the position of University Senior Lecturer. 

Two external Directors of Studies have also been promoted, Rosalind Love (Anglo Saxon, Norse and Celtic) to a Readership, and Frank Salmon (History of Art) to a University Senior Lectureship. Former Fellow in Geography Clive Oppenheimer has also been promoted to a Professorship.

The Master, Professor Andrew Wallace-Hadrill, commented that this is 'fantastic news, individually and for the fellowship'. He sent his warmest congratulations to our new professor, reader and senior lecturers.

Several Sidney Fellows have been promoted by the University.
