Porky Bill piles up the pounds for Sidney

Bill Abraham's marathon efforts raise nearly £4,000 for Sidney Sussex.

Development Director Bill Abraham has raised nearly £4,000 for the College's Annual Fund by running the London Marathon dressed as a porcupine. His porcupine quills hardly made for the most aero-dynamic of outfits but 'Porky Bill' completed the 26.2 mile course in 5 hours and 3 minutes.

Congratulations to Bill, and thanks to everybody who supported Bill with their donations, messages of support or cheers on route. You can find out more by visiting Bill's page on the Virgin Money Giving website.

The Annual Fund enables the College:

  • To attract and support the very best students irrespective of their financial background.
  • To continue to provide personalised teaching with high levels of supervision by research-active Scholars.
  • To enhance our students’ experience at Sidney by providing excellent facilities and a wide range of activities including student societies, Sidney Sussex Choir, music and performance, sports and travel.
