MA Graduation 2019

MA Degrees

Alumni of the College who graduate with a BA from the University are eligible to proceed to their MA degrees 6 years (+ one term) after they first matriculated as undergraduates, so long as this includes at least 2 years since their BA was conferred. Thus, a student who matriculated in Michaelmas Term 2013 will normally be eligible for an MA in Lent Term 2019.

An alumnus/a may choose to take the MA at any of the regular University Graduation Congregations during the year, but Sidney has chosen the day of the May Congregation for our own preferred 'MA Day' which this year falls on Saturday 18 May 2019. Most of our eligible MA graduands do choose to graduate at this May Congregation, particularly because we link the graduation proceedings to a College Reunion Dinner in the evening of the same day (see below).

Please contact the Praelector's Secretary, Mrs Gillian Johnstone ( for further information. For general information regarding the nature and requirements of graduation procedures, please visit the Praelector's Information page on the College website.

Graduation High Tea

After the ceremony the College hosts a Graduation High Tea in Hall, free of charge.

MA Reunion Dinner

On the evening of the May Graduation Congregation day, a MA Reunion Dinner will be held; this is a great opportunity to reunite with fellow alumni. Pre-dinner drinks will be held in the Master's Lodge followed by dinner in Hall. The dress code is black tie and the dinner is payable. Please contact the Membership & Events Officer, Mrs Jacqueline Boyle (, for further information about the dinner.

We encourage graduands to invite guests to the ceremony, however, due to space constraints, guests are not permitted at the Graduation High Tea or Reunion Dinner.

Applications to proceed to the MA degree should be made via the online CamSIS self-service webpage at least three weeks in advance of the chosen Graduation Congregation.

You can register and pay for the MA Reunion Dinner using the booking form below.
