Sidney will always be your College. We look forward to welcoming you back for reunions and other events, and hope that you would like to remain engaged with us. There are many ways that you can remain involved in College life.
There are a number of alumni societies connected to Sidney which offer events and activities with other alumni who share your interests or location. There are also opportunities to dine, stay or hold an event in College. College and University members are also able to access libraries and academic journals.

- Dining privileges at Sidney
Dining privileges are awarded to members of Sidney Sussex College who are not current students when they have (or are eligible to take) a Master of Arts, PhD or another graduate qualification (that is, MPhil, MBA, MEd, LLM, PGCE) taken while in residence at the College.
- When you can dine in College and how to book
These dining privileges allow you to dine at High Table three times per academic year on most Wednesday or Sunday evenings during term time. For catering reasons, we ask that you give at least 48 hours’ notice of dining.
To check there will be a High Table on the day you wish to dine and to make arrangements to dine or for any further information please contact the Steward’s PA (telephone: +44 (0) 1223 3 38882).
Unfortunately, the College is currently closed to visitors. Thank you for your understanding.
Alumni are welcome to bring one guest and it may be possible to accommodate up to three guests if space permits.
Requests to bring additional guests should be made to the Steward's PA. Alumni who wish to return as a group should also contact the Steward. The College will do its best to accommodate up to eight alumni (that number including guests) on High Table on any one evening. The Steward may, in special circumstances, grant permission to dine to larger groups. It is, generally, easier to accommodate group requests to dine on a Sunday evening.
- Prices and timings
Your meal will be free of charge, however, you will be charged for wine and for any guest’s meal and wine.
The cost of dining (in 2019-20) is £24.30 for a meal, £5.20 for wine at High Table, and a further £5.20 for wine with dessert after dinner.
Dinner starts at 7.30 pm in Hall, with pre-dinner sherry available in the New Parlour from 7.15 pm. On Sundays, you are also welcome to attend Evensong, which commences at 6.00 pm (followed by drinks in the Old Library before dinner).
It is customary for members to wear academic gowns to dinner (these can be hired from the Porters' Lodge on the day for £10). Guests (unless they are members of the University) do not wear gowns.

The General Data Protection Regulation does not allow us to give you the contact details for other Sidney alumni without their expressed permission.

Library and journal access

You are welcome to come back to use the library at Sidney for scholarly interests.

- Archives at Sidney
The College's archives and special collections are housed in the Muniment Room, at the end of South Court nearest Garden Court. The collection contains some rare manuscripts and early printed books, which alumni are more than welcome to visit by prior arrangement with the Archivist (telephone: +44 (0) 1223 338824; email: firstname.lastname@example.org)
- Journals and online resources
Everybody who has matriculated at the University receives lifelong access to JSTOR's huge wealth of journal articles and other academic materials.

Staying and celebrating at Sidney
- Bed and Breakfast
All Alumni are welcome to stay at Sidney Sussex College outside of term time. We are able to offer standard single rooms, en suite single rooms and en suite twin rooms. Please visit our booking page to make a reservation or contact the Housekeeping Office for more information.
- Host events at Sidney
Alumni are very welcome to hold receptions and social gatherings in the College gardens, as well as private dinners, parties, weddings and conferences at Sidney.
