Sidney will welcome a record-breaking 116 new undergraduate students to Sidney this Michaelmas Term.

After an extraordinary and challenging year for all of our offer holders, we are delighted to introduce some of our new undergraduates who will soon be heading to Sidney and the University of Cambridge.

Meet some of the Sidney Freshers soon coming to Cambridge!

Aisling Day will be studying Chemical Engineering via Natural Sciences at Sidney. She said, "I’m really looking forward to joining societies such as the music society and ski club and I’d love to have a go at rowing. I can’t wait to meet everyone and get involved in all aspects of university life."

Rana Roffifah is excited to study Geography, and noted, "I took a gap year so I’m really excited to move to a new city. I love visiting heritage sites and old buildings so I’m really looking forward to living in a place with an abundance of beautiful buildings! Lockdown has made me even more eager to make new friends and finally meet everyone in person at Sidney."

Jake Knight will study Engineering, and said, "I can’t wait to get stuck into new challenges at Cambridge! Studying Engineering in such great labs and with world-class teaching will be fantastic and I’m looking forward to making loads of new friends at Sidney, given the College’s reputation as a really friendly place."

Ellie Hardy is looking forward to studying Veterinary Medicine, "This year has been really uncertain, but I am really excited to join Sidney in the autumn! I am most looking forward to studying a course I am passionate about, meeting new people, living in such a beautiful and historic College and trying a new sport."

Lizzy Vogel will study Natural Sciences, "I’m really looking forward to doing Natural Sciences at Sidney - especially because the Colleges all look incredible, and I love the city of Cambridge. I’m also hoping that we can get a great social scene going even with the minor inconvenience that is a global pandemic!"

Abigail Horton will be joining Sidney and the Music Faculty, and said, "After a long, anxious wait for results, I'm absolutely thrilled! I can't wait to delve into all the incredible opportunities on offer, and I am so looking forward to being a part of the Sidney Sussex community and meeting everyone at Cambridge!"
