Dr Tomislav Friscic has been awarded the Harrison-Meldola Memorial Prize by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

The prize recognises Dr Friscic's work 'in developing solid-state methodologies which explore and combine new types of molecular self-assembly'.

The Harrison-Meldola Memorial Prizes are awarded for 'the most meritorious and promising original investigations in chemistry and published results of those investigations'. Awarded in its current form since 2008, winners receive £5,000, a medal and a certificate. Up to three prizes are awarded each year.

Tomislav joined the Chemistry department and Sidney Sussex in 2008 as Herchel Smith Research Fellow. He has recently appointed to the post of Assistant Professor at McGill University in Canada.
