Statement on the UUK/USS pensions survey

With regard to the recent press interest in the responses of Oxbridge Colleges to the September 2017 UUK survey on USS pensions, Sidney Sussex College wishes to make it clear that it has not expressed an institutional view with regard to the matters that were the subject of that consultation.  One Fellow of the College did offer a view in response to the survey, but it was made clear by the Fellow concerned that the response was not made on behalf of the College because the timing of the consultation meant that the College Council had not been able to discuss the matter.

The College consequently has not formed a view regarding the USS revaluation and the proposed reduction in pension benefits.  It welcomes the commitment to further talks between UCU and UUK to find a solution to the current dispute.
