Lisa Wilson has been managing Sidney’s IT Office for nearly 12 years and has had a difficult year after losing her mother to cancer in 2021. She’ll be taking on the Race for Life today.

Lisa’s mother, Sheila Wilson, was proud to complete the race every year, and Lisa will be taking on the race to continue Sheila’s great efforts in raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Lisa said, “My mum used to do Race for Life every year, even when her arthritis got bad, it was something she was very proud of. Unfortunately, after a short battle in 2021 she lost her life to cancer. I will be doing the event this year in her memory. This is a horrible disease and any donations people can make are greatly appreciated and can help us make a difference.”

Race for Life is a series of fundraising events, organised by charity Cancer Research UK. They involve running, jogging or walking a 5-kilometre, 10-kilometre or 'Pretty Muddy' course and raising sponsorship for doing so. The money raises funds for cancer research in all 200 types of cancer.

You can support Lisa by making a donation if you can and cheering her on: https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/lisas-race-for-life-3274686226
