Professor Rosamond McKitterick has been appointed as the Lectio Chair for 2015 at the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven's Centre for the Study of the Transmission of Texts and Ideas in Antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance. 

LECTIO was established in 2010 and is specialist centre for the study of 'the intellectual history of pre-modern European thought'. Professor McKitterick will be required to give a public lecture to the centre's multidisciplinary audience as well as offer a more specialist seminar for doctoral students.

Professor McKitterick is Fellow in History at Sidney Sussex.  An expert on Carolingian Europe, her current research examines the relationship between knowledge and political identity with a special emphasis on the history of the written word.
