Professor Tim Blanning, who is Professor of Modern European History and Fellow of the College, appeared on this week's edition of In Our Time on BBC Radio 4.

He took part in a discussion with Rosemary Ashton and Richard Evans on Erskine Childers' 1903 adventure story The Riddle of the Sands, which follows a sailing trip by two men who happen across a German plan to invade Britain.

The programme, which was broadcast on the 12th June and is available as a podcast here, considers the book in the light of Anglo-German relations at the time.
