Sidney Consortium for Guitar Research publishes first set of papers

The Consortium for Guitar Research, an affiliate of the Royal Musical Association, is based at Sidney Sussex College. The group seeks to contribute to global research into the history of the guitar, and publishes papers relating to the social, musical and organological history of all instruments called 'guitars' before the twentieth century.  The first set of papers appeared in the issue of Soundboard, the journal of the Guitar Foundation of America, in December, 2012. A second will appear in a special issue of Early Music, published by Oxford University Press, in November, 2013. These are the papers of the Consortium's second biennial conference, held in Sidney Sussex College in April, 2013.
