Sidney Bye-Fellow returns to BBC Four

New BBC Four series by Sidney Bye Fellow in History Dr Helen Castor.

Following her critically appraised book and television series She-Wolves, Dr Helen Castor returns to BBC Four with a new three-part investigation of birth, marriage and death in medieval society. 

The series begins with 'A Good Birth' at 9pm on Wednesday 9th October, which examines the dangers of child birth and the role that religion played in shaping medieval understandings of labour. Dr Helen Castor is a Bye Fellow in Medieval History at Sidney Sussex.  Having directed studies and taught at Sidney for many years, Dr Castor decided to concentrate on writing for a non-specialist audience.  She can also regularly be heard on BBC Radio 4 as one of the presenters of the series Making History.
