Honorary Fellow The Rt Hon. Sir William Gage QC has submitted the final report of the Public Inquiry appointed to investigate the death of Baha Mousa.

Sir William Gage matriculated at Sidney Sussex in 1958. He read Law and was called to the Bar in 1963, served as a Judge of the High Court of Justice (1993-2004) and was appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal (2004-2008). He was elected to an Honorary Fellowship at Sidney Sussex in 2005.

Sidney Sussex has a proud tradition in Law, which is continued with the support of our alumni. The Thornely Society honours the memory of John Thornely who, in 1948, became Sidney's first Law Fellow.  Thanks to the generosity of Thornely Society members the College has been able to fund a Thornely Fellowship in Law and is now able to offer a series of bursaries to Law students.
