Sidney alumnus Dr Michael Purshouse has been elected President of Cambridge University Engineers' Association.

Dr Purshouse will be known to many in Sidney.  A Fellow Commoner of the College, he has taken a keen interest for many years in our Stephenson Society for engineers and more recently helped to organise an evening to launch the Donald Green Fund, which supports engineering in the College. He has recently retired from Thales UK, and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2007.

Along with the Cambridge University Engineering Society, the Cambridge University Engineers' Association plays an important role in fostering links between staff and students of the Departments of Engineering and Chemical Engineering and alumni and the wider engineering profession.  All graduates of the Engineering Department are members of the Engineering Association.

You can read the announcement of Dr Purshouse's election on the Department of Engineering website.
