Dr Giuseppe Albano, Curator of the Keats-Shelley House museum, has been awarded the MBE for his contribution to UK-Italian relations in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Giuseppe studied literature at Edinburgh University, before undertaking postgraduate work at York and then Sidney, where he wrote his doctoral thesis on Victorian pastoral poetry.

Guiseppe works as Curator and Director of the Keats-Shelley House museum in Rome where he works to encourage and facilitate Anglo-Italian cultural collaborations. He has previously worked in various arts institutions, including the British Museum, Wallace Collection and the Hawthornden International Writers’ Retreat, where he was librarian and archivist.

"It was a lovely surprise," Giuseppe says. "It's always an honour to be able to help preserve and promote the extraordinary legacies of Keats and Shelley in Italy, and I felt particularly touched on this occasion."

Congratulations to Giuseppe and all those listed in this year's Birthday Honours.
