New Sidney Fellow Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz’s research widely reported
Sidney Sussex Fellow Professor Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz and her team of scientists based in the Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience research the molecular and cellular development of mammalian embryos. In their latest research, published in the leading journal Science, they explain how, through a pioneering technique, they have been able to use different types of stem cells to grow an embryo-like embryo in a dish.
Their findings, which are summarised on the University of Cambridge news website, contribute to understandings the very earliest stages of mammalian embryo development and reasons behind early pregnancy loss.
