Prime Minister David Cameron has appointed Professor Dame Sandra Dawson to the Council for Science and Technology, the government's senior advisory body on science and technology policy issues.

The group is tasked with advising the government on how to develop and sustain science, technology and mathematics in education and industry and how to make the best use of scientific research in the drafting and implementation of government policy.

Earlier this year the Prime Minister re-appointed to the Council Professor Alan Hughes, who is Director for the Centre for Business at the Judge Business School and Fellow in Economics at Sidney Sussex.
