Sidney Sussex rugby team returns from a successful tour of the east coast of America.

Between the 4th and 18th of September, writes Tom McNeill, a squad of 26 players including undergraduates, graduates and recent alumni visited New York, New Haven and Boston. The Sidney team competed against strong university-level opposition from Columbia, Yale and Harvard, winning two out of a possible four matches.

Cultural highlights of the tour included visits to the Rockefeller Building in New York, living on campus at Yale for a weekend and a Red Sox game at Fenway Stadium, Boston.

The rugby team would like to thank Parry Dutton Student Fund and the members of the 1596 Foundation whose financial support made the tour possible. This has been the best summer preparation any Sidney rugby team has ever had, and we look forward to the challenges of the new season in the coming weeks.
