Over one third of Sidney students have signed up to use the College's new gym since it opened in December.

The gym was moved from the basement of the Mong Hall to newly refurbished rooms in Sussex House, complete with new equipment. It now rivals any College gym in Cambridge.

With its combination of treadmills, exercise bikes, cross trainers and rowing machines plus a range of weights and presses the gym has certainly been popular. So far nearly 250 students - with nearly as many women as men - have taken out gym membership, as have 17 staff and Fellows. In just the first two weeks of February the Porters have signed out gym keys on nearly 250 occasions.

Membership is available to all current students and staff at £40 per year and to Fellows at £50 per year. Anybody interested in joining should contact their relevant gym officer:
