New research by Dr Tony Jackson and colleagues could lead to advances in cardiac and other pain treatments.

Fellow and Director of Studies in Medicine Dr Tony Jackson has recently published the results of research with colleagues in biochemistry that challenges how scientists understand the structure of sodium channels.

These channels play an important part in the functioning of heart and nerve cells and the team believes that their findings, published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, could lead to improvements to a range of cardiac and pain drug treatments.

You can read more about their research on the University of Cambridge’s Research website.
