John Osborn has been awarded a CBE in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his philanthropic services to Education, the Arts and charity.

The Queen authorised the delay of her traditional Birthday Honours from June to recognise and celebrate individuals who have been instrumental in the battle against COVID-19.

Osborn’s charitable actions include his ongoing philanthropic work at his former school, with a particular passion for supporting musical talent. At Sidney, John has funded the Director of Music position and the Osborn Fellowship.

Researchers from the University have also been recognised in this year’s list for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Congratulations to John and to everyone else who was recognised in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
