Dr Yannis Galanakis appointed to distinguished American lectureship for 2014-15.

Fellow in Classics and University Lecturer in Greek Prehistory Dr Yannis Galanakis has been appointed to the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) Samuel H. Kress Lectureship for 2014-2015.

The Kress lectureship was established to enable the AIA to invite distinguished foreign scholars to lecture to members of AIA, university communities, and general public, as part of the Institute’s annual lecture programme in the United States and Canada. The AIA is North America’s oldest and largest organisation devoted to archaeology with nearly 250,000 members.

The Kress lecturer has to address 13 AIA societies. Dr Galanakis is delighted to take up the position, which he will combine with his academic duties in Cambridge.
