A memorial concert for Charles Larkum (Bursar, Sidney Sussex College, 1994-2006), will be held on Saturday, 17 November 2007 in the College Chapel. The event will run from 2.30 to 4.30pm with a substantial interval, when light refreshments will be served.

The programme will consist of poetry readings from various members of the College and recitals by the College Choir, current and former Sidney musicians, and professional musicians who have held an association with the College in recent times. Featured works will include music by Thomas Tomkins which appears on the Choir's recent CD release (funded in part by the Charles Larkum Music Fund), consort elegies written for Sir Phillip Sidney (nephew of our foundress, Lady Frances Sidney), a mixture of vocal and chamber music from the 16th to the 19th centuries, and a consort song written by Christopher Page in memory of Charles, performed by the viol consort Fretwork and soloists.
