Members of the Sidney Sussex Boat Club are warmly invited to the next biennial Alumni Boat Club Dinner which will take place in Hall on Saturday 19th October 2024, in the 187th year since the Club's inception!
SSBC is currently in an incredibly exciting era with successful (and interesting..) races, large numbers, enthusiastic members and smooth running. It is extremely accessible and fun and has a longstanding established identity to which every one of you has once contributed to. We would love for you to join us to experience SSBC in 2024 and reminisce on your time with us that ultimately helped us get to where we are today.
The programme will include:
- Outings on the Saturday afternoon
- Drinks reception featuring our current signature SSBC cocktails, if you are that way inclined followed by a four course meal...
- A panel discussion on a theme yet to be announced….
- An auction including naming rights to the new men’s Janousek and more...
- Good food, good company, great blazers and fantastic stories to be shared…..

FAIRBAIRNS
Onto the real rowing bit…..
Fairbairns will likely be taking place on the 6th December 2024. You all know the course (SUPER short) and the vibes, for lack of a better word. We currently have a few people interested, definitely enough for at least one boat but I think we can be even more ambitious than this.
It looks like we could potentially fill out a women's and a men's crew, however there is some variation in expectations on rate. I was thinking we could maybe do one men's crew and one women's crew at a rate 28-34ish and a mixed crew that goes at a strong r24.
