Cambridge Festival of the Voice

Sidney participates in Cambridge early music festival.

A special choral Vespers service will take place on Friday 18th May at 6.45pm in place of Choral Evensong, as Sidney Choir is taking part in the Cambridge Festival of the Voice.  All of the music will be by the Renaissance composer Orlande de Lassus.

On Saturday 19th May Obsorn Director of Music Dr David Skinner will be in conversation with Sidney composer-in-residence Eric Whitacre.  The event will be held at Corpus Christi College.  Entry is ticketed. For more information please follow the link to the Festival website.
Also on Saturday 19th, Professor Rosamond McKitterick will be giving a talk entitled ‘Cultural memory and the resources of the past: setting medieval texts to music’.  The talk will be at 6.15pm in Trinity Chapel, and precedes a concert, 'Medieval and Contemporary'.  Entry to the talk is free for all ticket holders.  Details of the concert can be found on the Festival website.
