Student Emma Hughes in Moot Success

Congratulations to Sidney Sussex Law student Emma Hughes, who was one of the winners of the Faculty-wide XXIV Old Buildings Speed Moot.

Moots are competitions requiring students to argue points of law, as though they are barristers before the Court of Appeal or the Supreme Court. In this ‘speed moot,’ Emma was given a range of materials on a difficult legal problem to read in a limited time, and asked to argue in front of a panel of legal experts composed of barristers from XXIV Old Buildings Chambers.

As one of the winners, Emma will join members of the chambers at a dinner in London in December.
