Eric Whitacre appointed as Composer in Residence

Eric Whitacre, who spent a successful term in Sidney earlier this year, has been appointed as Composer in Residence for the next five years.

This appointment will allow Eric, who composed a beautiful setting of the College's grace when here in 2010, to visit Sidney on a regular basis to teach conducting as part of the university's new MMus Choral Conducting course as well as to support and enrich the work of our choir and Director of Music, David Skinner.

Eric's new work, Alleluia, received its premiere at the second biennial Sidney Sussex Arts Festival on the 25th June.
