Sidney Sussex College Alumni Reunion, Saturday 1 July 2017
For those who matriculated in 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1963
On behalf of the College, I would like to invite you to your Alumni Reunion at Sidney on Saturday 1 July 2017.
Alumni Reunions are a wonderful way to meet old friends, reminisce about life at Sidney, and catch up on the events that have shaped your lives since graduation. As is traditional at our reunions, your spouse or partner and other family members are welcome to join us for afternoon tea in the Cloister Court Garden from 3.30-5.30 pm, so that they too can enjoy the atmosphere of Sidney. The Reunion for College members will commence with pre-dinner drinks at 7pm in the Master’s Lodge.
The College has changed considerably over the years, including the first admission of women as undergraduates in 1976. However, two Fellows from your time are still here: Professor Derek Beales (1955) and Dr Paul Scott (1962).
Since your Decade lunch in 2013 there have been further improvements to the College, none of which would have been possible without the support of our alumni and friends. In 2014 we opened Sidney House which provides the College with 28 new student rooms and in 2016 completed the conversion of 26-29 Sidney Street. We will be organising informal tours of the gardens and buildings so you can see some of the changes for yourself.
The closing date for booking is Friday 2 June 2017.
Even if you cannot come back on this occasion, I would urge to you to go to the online booking in any event to update your contact details and provide us with a "where are they now" mini-autobiography.
I very much hope that I will have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Sidney in July.
Professor Richard Penty FREng
