Since its foundation, Sidney Sussex College has flourished in large part through the involvement and generosity of alumni and friends.
Every year the Sidney Sussex Annual Fund has a direct impact on our current and prospective students, supporting the teaching and supervisions system as well as helping the many extra-curricular activities that make College life special.
This year, our supporters have given more than £500,000 to the Sidney Sussex Annual Fund. Please join the hundreds of Sidney alumni and friends in making a gift to Sidney – every gift made to the Annual Fund, regardless of its amount, enables us to make a real difference to the College and to the experience of our students.
Sidney’s current fundraising priorities:
- To attract and support the very best students irrespective of their financial background.
- To continue to provide personalised teaching with high levels of supervision by research-active Scholars.
- To enhance our students’ experience at Sidney by providing excellent facilities and a wide range of activities including student societies, Sidney Sussex Choir, music and performance, sports and travel.

Named and specific donations:
Sidney would particularly encourage donations directed at student bursaries or for teaching support.
We would welcome discussions with alumni or friends of Sidney who wish to discuss making a significant contribution to the College. Our most generous benefactors are invited to join the 1596 Foundation, where their generosity, involvement and support provide guidance and inspiration.
