Come back and dine in College at High Table. This is an excellent way to visit Sidney and to dine with Fellows and Students during Full Term.
Alumni are entitled to dine free of charge at High Table three times a year during Full Term in each academic year (if you would like to have wine with your meal, that will be charged at £4.80, with a further charge of the same amount for any after dinner drinks at dessert). These dining privileges start three years after members have obtained their Bachelor's degree and also include all members of Sidney Sussex College, who hold the degree of Master of Arts or another graduate qualification (including: PhD, MPhil, MBA, Med, LLM, PGCE). Alumni are welcome to dine on Wednesday or Sunday nights during term time and dinner starts at 7.30 pm in Hall, with pre-dinner sherry available in the New Parlour from 7.15 pm. It is customary for members to wear academic gowns to dinner (these can be hired from the Porters' Lodge on the day for £10). Guests (unless they are members of the University) do not wear gowns. If you would like to attend Vespers, that commences at 6.30 pm on Wednesday and Evensong is at 6.00 pm on Sundays (followed by drinks in the Old Library before dinner).
For catering reasons, we ask that you give at least three days' notice of dining. You are of course welcome to bring a guest (at extra cost).
